Evonik Launches Two New Dental PEEK Grades DC4760 / DC4780 For Metal-free Restorations
Nov 05, 2026
27 October - Evonik has released two new dental PEEK grades under its VESTAKEEP® portfolio, DC4760 (dentin shade) and DC4780 (gingiva shade). Featuring bone-like high stiffness, the new materials are fully compatible with standard CAD/CAM workflows and mark a meaningful material update for the PEEK denture segment.
Formulated with a patented composition, the two grades are engineered for long-term prosthetic restorations, including metal-free frameworks, fixed bridges and long-term removable dentures. Independent research published in Dental Materials by Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin confirmed their mechanical performance is suitable for implant-supported, high-load multi-unit restorationsEvonik. Supplied as CAD/CAM discs and blanks, they can be milled directly in most dental labs without equipment modification.
Clinically, the lightweight, biocompatible PEEK is an ideal alternative for patients with metal allergies. It avoids metallic discoloration, delivers neutral taste and reduces the overall weight of prostheses. According to Evonik, the new launch responds to the fast-growing global demand for metal-free dental solutions and addresses the historic limitation of conventional PEEK: insufficient rigidity for multi-unit fixed restorations.
Industry observers consider this release an important milestone. It expands the usable scope of PEEK beyond simple removable frames into high-load fixed and implant prosthetics, setting a new benchmark for offshore dental raw material suppliers and offering a reference for OEM dental laboratories worldwide.
