The prototype of invisible orthodontic technology was first proposed by American physician Katherine in 1945. Invisible orthodontic technology emerged in the United States in the 1990s. In 1997, American Zia Chishti founded Align Technology. In 1999, Align Technology pioneered the invisible orthodontic market, launching the Invisalign product. In 2001, German orthodontist Dirk Wiechmann applied CAD/CAM technology to the creation of personalized lingual invisible aligners.

In 2003, Angelalign was established, becoming a leading provider of invisible orthodontic solutions in China. Shanghai ZhengYa Dental Technology Co., Ltd. in my country has been conducting independent research and development since 2004, receiving support from the National Entrepreneurship Fund. The company owns independent intellectual property rights and its products are now fully deployed in clinical use. In 2006, Angelalign's first product-Angelalign Standard-received approval from the State Food and Drug Administration, becoming the first patented invisible aligner treatment technology in China. In 2014, ZhengLi Technology was established. In 2018, Invisalign shipped 272,200 clear aligners globally, and Angelalign received FDA approval in the same year. Angelalign went public in Hong Kong in 2021. This orthodontic method uses a computerized digital model, allowing patients to preview the entire treatment process. Through transparent aligners, patients are able to straighten their teeth without even realizing it; this method can also be called "invisible lenses" for teeth.
